Who can register a U Mobile business plan?

Any SSM-registered business — Sdn Bhd, partnership, enterprise, or sole proprietorship — plus self-employed individuals. That last part surprises people: you don't need a company to qualify. Freelancers and gig-economy professionals registered as sole proprietors sign up on exactly the same terms.

You'll typically need three things: your SSM business registration document, the authorised person's NRIC, and company contact details. Three routes in are accepted: brand-new registrations, MNP port-ins from Maxis, CelcomDigi, Yes or any other network (your numbers stay the same), and prepaid-to-postpaid conversions. Non-Malaysian applicants add a refundable RM500 deposit per line.

ULTRA Business Postpaid — for individual business lines

The core product. Four tiers, every one with unlimited calls & SMS to all networks and always-on scam protection built into the network. The Reserve tiers add ULTRA5G Reserve — dedicated network capacity that delivers up to 4X faster speeds during peak hours at business districts, malls and transport hubs. If your team works out of KL Sentral or a busy commercial area, this is the feature they'll actually notice day to day.

How to size it in practice: RM45 suits admin and back-office staff who sit on office WiFi most of the day — 500GB is already generous for that profile. Sales teams and field staff who live on the road do better on Business 68 or Reserve Pro, because the free device, roaming and network priority matter far more than extra quota. Directors and frequent flyers justify Reserve Elite through the 30GB global roaming alone — two overseas trips can otherwise cost more in roaming passes than the plan-price difference for the whole year.

3-Line SME Bundles — the best value per line

Here's the rule we repeat most often: if you're connecting three or more staff, don't buy individual lines. The 3-line bundles sell the same plans at better per-line economics and consolidate everything under one business account.

SIM-only bundles are the budget champions: SIM Bundle 45 works out to RM90/month total for three lines (500GB each), and SIM Bundle 68 to RM136/month total with 1,000GB per line plus regional roaming. Device bundles add a free 5G smartphone for every line — from a Samsung Galaxy S25 FE at the Business 68 tier up to an iPhone 17 Pro or HONOR Magic V5 on Reserve Elite — on 24- or 36-month contracts.

Borneo Plans — unlimited data for Sabah, Sarawak & Labuan

East Malaysian businesses get their own range — and it's the only truly unlimited one in U Mobile's business lineup. All four Borneo tiers, from Borneo 38 (RM38/month, SIM-only) to Reserve Elite (RM138/month with device), include unlimited data & hotspot plus unlimited calls & SMS, with a 10GB allowance for use when travelling in Peninsular Malaysia and roaming quotas for Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand on higher tiers.

Two ways to connect your office, and the right one depends on your building more than your budget.

Business fibre runs from RM119/month for 100Mbps symmetrical up to RM1,899/month for 10Gbps, with a WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 router included and Secure DNS protection on every plan. Symmetrical upload matters more than most buyers realise — video calls, cloud backups and file transfers are upload-hungry, and consumer-grade connections skimp exactly there. Choose fibre when your premises has coverage and your team depends on cloud apps all day.

Business wireless internet delivers up to 1Gbps over 5G with no cabling at all — a SIM in a router, and you're online. We've had clients connected the same afternoon they signed, which no fibre installation can match. It's the right answer for new offices that can't wait, temporary sites and event spaces, locations without fibre coverage, and as a failover line for businesses where downtime costs real money.

The honest rule after years of deployments: fibre where available, wireless where speed-to-deploy or location rules fibre out — and increasingly, both together, with wireless as automatic backup.

Enterprise Solutions — beyond plans

Buying individual lines for a team. The bundle discount plus single-account admin wins every time from three lines up. Ignoring the 90-day minimum term. SIM-only plans carry a 90-day commitment from signup or plan change — plan your switch date around it. Assuming "unlimited" on Peninsular plans. ULTRA Business postpaid plans carry large quotas (500GB–2,000GB) then throttle to 512kbps — genuinely unlimited data exists only on Borneo plans. Registering lines under staff names. Company-registered lines mean company billing for accounting and tax, and you keep the number when an employee leaves.
