What "throttling" actually feels like

On a quota-based plan, crossing your allowance doesn't cut you off — it slows you to 512kbps. That's enough for messaging, email and basic browsing, but video calls stutter, large files crawl, and tethering a laptop becomes painful. For most business users the quotas are so large (500GB and up) that they never hit the cap. It only bites heavy data users — constant hotspotting, video-heavy field work, or a phone doubling as an office connection.

Who actually needs truly unlimited?

Truly unlimited earns its place for specific profiles: a field worker who tethers a laptop all day, a site office running entirely off a mobile hotspot, a business in an area where the phone is the primary internet connection, or anyone whose monthly data genuinely runs into hundreds of gigabytes. For these users, no quota — however large — feels comfortable, and the peace of mind is worth it.
