Who can register a U Mobile business plan?

Any SSM-registered business qualifies — Sdn Bhd, partnership, enterprise, or sole proprietorship — and so do self-employed individuals registered as sole proprietors. You do not need to be a large company; freelancers and gig-economy professionals sign up on exactly the same business terms. Non-Malaysian applicants can register too, with a refundable RM500 deposit per line.

The confusion is almost never the paperwork — it's knowing which route applies to you.

The 3 documents you need

Have these ready before you start and the registration takes minutes, not days. For a company with several lines, you supply one set for the business plus a signed form per line.

SSM registration

Your business registration document (Sdn Bhd, enterprise, partnership or sole-prop). The proof you're a registered business.

Authorised person's NRIC

The IC of the director, owner or authorised signatory registering on behalf of the company.

Company contact details

Billing address, contact number and email for the account — and, for a port-in, your current numbers.

From our activations desk: the most common hold-up isn't a missing document — it's an SSM printout that's expired or a signatory who isn't listed as a director. If in doubt, send us a photo of your SSM before you start and we'll flag it in a minute.

Choose your sign-up route

There are three ways onto a U Mobile business plan, and the route decides what else you'll need. Pick the one that matches where your lines are today.

Route A

New registration

Brand-new business numbers. Fastest route — nothing to transfer, so lines activate almost immediately once documents clear.

Route B

MNP port-in

Keep your existing numbers from Maxis, CelcomDigi, Yes or any network. One porting form per line; incoming calls keep working throughout.

Route C

Prepaid → postpaid

Convert an existing U Mobile prepaid line to a business postpaid plan while keeping the same number.

The registration process, step by step

1

Shortlist your plan and lines

Decide the plan tier and how many lines — postpaid, a 3-line bundle, Borneo or fibre. This determines your device and contract options.

2

Prepare your documents

SSM, authorised person's NRIC, company contact details — plus current numbers if you're porting in.

3

Submit & sign

Complete the business application and sign one form per line. Non-Malaysians pay the refundable RM500/line deposit at this step.

4

Verification & porting

U Mobile verifies the business and, for port-ins, coordinates the number transfer with your old network. New lines skip this wait.

5

Activation

SIMs go live, devices ship where a bundle applies, and billing starts. You're on your U Mobile business plan.

Costs to know before you sign

Plan pricing is U Mobile's official rate — a dealer can't inflate it — but two extra costs surprise people. Non-Malaysian applicants pay a refundable RM500 deposit per line, returned per U Mobile's terms. And SIM-only plans carry a 90-day minimum term from sign-up or plan change, so time any switch around it. Device bundles run 24 or 36 months; fibre is 24. All plan prices are quoted before SST.

Register through AEC or U Mobile directly?

Either way the price is identical. Registering through AEC just removes the legwork: we check your documents up front, complete the forms, coordinate the MNP porting, and stay reachable after activation instead of routing you to a call-centre queue. For multi-line or mixed setups — some SIM-only, some device bundles, maybe fibre too — having one person handle the whole submission is the difference between a smooth port and a week of back-and-forth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What documents do I need to register a U Mobile business plan?

Three: your SSM business registration, the authorised person's NRIC, and company contact/billing details. For a port-in, add your current numbers. Non-Malaysians also pay a refundable RM500 deposit per line.

How long does it take to register and activate?

Typically a few working days. New registrations activate almost immediately once documents clear; port-ins take a little longer while numbers transfer, but incoming calls keep working throughout.

Can a sole proprietor or freelancer register a business plan?

Yes. Sole proprietorships and self-employed individuals registered with SSM qualify on the same terms as larger companies — you don't need a Sdn Bhd.

Can I keep my existing company numbers?

Yes — via MNP port-in from Maxis, CelcomDigi, Yes or any Malaysian network. It's one porting form per line, and your numbers stay the same. AEC handles the paperwork.

Is there a deposit or minimum contract?

Malaysian businesses pay no deposit; non-Malaysians pay a refundable RM500 per line. SIM-only plans have a 90-day minimum term, device bundles 24–36 months, and fibre 24 months.
